Fairy Tale Plots

Every story seems to consist of the good versus the bad. From the beginning it is all established. We get the sweet serene music as we're told the story of the good side. The dark and gloomy music looms over as the villain is revealed. But what happens when the good and villain collide? Well I'll tell you...

When writing my first book, I wanted it to be something that people could relate to. I wanted to be sure to have things as accurate as possible. As a result, I was sure to do my research and get the male perspective on different topics. I studied their mannerisms when asking certain questions. People watching became my past time as I watched men try to pick up women and when men were lying. I watched as they secretly admired a woman from afar, as well as how men covered their lies with even more deceit.

Why am I bringing this up? Because all of this traits came from one person. At times we play the good and we also play the villain. Before you get defensive, keep reading. None of us are perfect. We've made mistakes. At times we've hurt people. Though it may not have been intentional, it happens. The violins and strings of our sob stories create a great story, yet rarely we talk about when we've played the villain.

Have you lied? Cheated? Rose to the top at some point all while manipulating someone else? Have you broken a heart of someone you weren't interested in? Or maybe you don't know because the person never told you that you did.

Rarely, the fairy tales reveal why the villain ever became the person that people now despise. Were they tired of being picked on? Were they tired of being picked last or not being picked at all? We have all been guilty of judging someone in their current state, instead of questioning what pushed them to that point.

What pushed you towards hurt and anger you had or currently possess? Is there someone in your life that you consider a villain? Maybe when you look in the mirror, you see the villain staring back at you. Even the villain is given grace. Don't be so judgmental by the season someone is currently in, even yourself.
